Although, our laws, often, define, and/ or, refer to an ADULT, as reaching a specific age (in most cases, 18 years old), we often witness, some younger people, who proceed, with an adult - like, maturity, while witnessing, many, so - called, adults, who lack this quality, far - too - often! Many people, continue, seeking, and/ or, searching for, some, path of least resistance, often, resorting to procrastination, denying, blaming, and complaining, rather than the finest course, forward, in a relevant, sustainable, proactive way! With, that in mind, this article will attempt to, briefly, consider, examine, review, and discuss, using the mnemonic approach, what this means and represents, and why, it makes sense, for each of us, to seriously, keep, in - mind.
1. Attitude; aptitude; attention; actions; articulate; astute: Astute individuals need a positive, can - do, attitude, but, without wearing, rose - colored, glasses, combined with a well - developed, personally - relevant, aptitude and skill - set! If you hope to be the best you can, it is essential to pay keen attention to all the facts, details, and potential ramifications, and self - articulate, a message, which propels - you, forward, to make mature, wise, significant decisions, in a well - considered, timely manner!
2. Delve deeply; discover/ determine; do it: Go beyond the obvious, surface factors, and delve deeply, in order to discover, your options and alternatives, and maximize the paths, which will have the finest, relevant, and sustainable impacts, etc! Determine, and consider, the potential ramifications, of, either, taking actions, or avoiding them, and instead of resorting to procrastination, simply, do it!
3. Urging/ urgent; useful; usual/ unusual: Examine all your personal urgings, and differentiate, between the truly, urgent issues, and the petty ones! Which are really, the most, personally - useful, in both, the shorter, and longer - terms? When making your personal choices, take into consideration, both, the usual, as well as more unusual possibilities, etc!
4. Listen; learning; lessons; leading: Instead, of prejudging, or proceeding, as if, you know - it - all, commit to effective listen, and consistently, learn, from every conversation and experience, in order to gain addition, keen, essential insights, expertise, judgment, and hopefully, become capable of greater, personal wisdom, which leads, you, forward, meaningfully!
5. Truthful; take time; timely; time - tested: Avoid the temptation to lie, to yourself, but, commit to being, as truthful, as you can! Take your time, while avoiding procrastination! While it is wise, to take, well - considered, timely actions, align these, with, taking advantage of, real, time - tested, knowledge and expertise!
You won't automatically, become an ADULT, simply, because, you age! Will you commit to the quest?
