Changing in life brings up the most challenges that we face as humans because we resist change. I wonder what life would be like if nothing ever changed! It gives me the image of a photograph frozen in time, it remains what it is forever. Well I don't think that would be interesting in any form or shape and when imagining that, I am very grateful for the maze, complexities and experiences that life brings my way.
When we stand back and observe life we can notice that nothing remains still or the same. A year is marked by seasons and every one of them is never the same. As humans we are marked by our milestones of growth, same as animals, plants, air, water and our environment.
There is nothing that remains the same in all circumstances.
We are creatures of habit and we find comfort in remaining familiar. Deep down within ourselves we often become restless, feeling and desiring something new different from our ordinary. Unconscious to our own behaviours, instead of going deep and finding out what that desire is requiring. We have found ways that shut it down by going out and feeling that void with buying new stuff that gives us temporary satisfaction. When that temporary state wears off we go get something else and we repeat this wondering why we have become insatiable, drowning in things we have collected but still feeling the desire for something more.
This itself keeps us in the comfort zones and temporarily forgetting that nagging feeling that's requiring changing in life. So the desire of our souls is not really addressed because we have created substitutes to the desire for changing in life.
How do we rise above this you may ask? I take a lot of pleasure in learning from nature. Birds travel across the globe in seasons, they often have the wisdom to know when natural disasters are going to occur and they plan in advance and move before they happen. But as humans we are stuck, not even aware of the dangers that nature has long detected and is preparing for. We let ourselves suffer unconsciously because we are not aware of the need for frequent changing in life. We stay stuck in this as we shift blame to each other and not take responsibility for our own ignorance in the matter.
There is a real big necessary need for changing in life and that we have to take personal responsibility and connect deeply within ourselves so as to find out how we need to implement that change from a personal level to the collective level. We have been hit hard by pandemics, natural disasters, fire, storms and earthquakes and yet we still can not comprehend that maybe we need to do something different that we are doing now.
Many people are wearing the hat of change agents and it's time we paid attention to the call of nature to be in harmony within ourselves and our environment. This would be the beginning of acknowledging and accepting the need for changing in life. We are not a photograph that's frozen in time. We can embrace this new reality and begin to shift in ways we never knew we were capable of. Truly the ball is in our court and what to do with it is both an individual and collective decision.
